How Building Sharpened Our Value Proposition

Each build sprint revealed what makes ShurAI defensible

01 Stack Ranking K-Pop

Choosing the Next Vertical

Evaluated multiple verticals across data availability, market relevance, and SBPI compatibility. K-Pop scored highest at 4.3/5.

What we learned The process of choosing forced us to articulate what makes SBPI transferable. The scoring criteria became the framework's portability spec.
02 Autoresearch Experiments

Proving KG Has Predictive Signal

Ran 30 MOTPE optimization trials. Moved accuracy from 23.5% baseline to 69.9% optimized. Validated 84 out-of-sample predictions.

What we learned The knowledge graph encodes real market dynamics. The signal existed — it was an interface configuration problem, not a data problem. This validated the compound intelligence thesis.
03 YC Agent Stack Ranking

Evaluating Ourselves Through an Investor Lens

3 agent personas (YC judge, angel, institutional) reviewed the deck simultaneously. All critical feedback applied to v2.

What we learned The multi-agent evaluation revealed unique positioning: we are not a data provider or an analytics tool. We are building an appreciating data asset with domain-specific ontological structure.
04 Discourse Grammar Phase 1

Specifying Evidence Provenance

Built full spec for evidence provenance chains. 3-agent review revealed it was premature. Branch isolated for future use.

What we learned Clarified the build sequence: visible surface first, formal infrastructure when client volume justifies it. Knowing what NOT to build now is as valuable as knowing what to build.
05 Brand Intel Cards (21 Companies)

Creating Per-Company Intelligence Snapshots

Built intelligence cards for all 21 tracked companies with SBPI scores, trend indicators, and competitive positioning across 5 dimensions.

What we learned The per-company card IS the natural product unit. It is the atomic deliverable that clients can hold, compare, and act on. The 21-card set revealed what a "ShurAI subscription" actually looks like.

"We didn't just build a product — the building process IS the product's value proposition becoming visible."

Build Sequencing Decision: Discourse Grammar

Discourse Grammar Phase 1 was fully specified — evidence provenance chains (CLM/EVD/SRC), SHACL validation, the full formal stack. A 3-agent review concluded it was premature. The spec was branch-isolated, not abandoned. The decision to defer formalized a build principle: visible surface first, structural infrastructure when client volume justifies the overhead.
